Grant Opportunity - Family Engagement and Support Services 2009-2011

Introduction

Trafford Children and Young People's Service are seeking to pilot new provision which will help us shape the services we commission in the future and those we deliver through our Multi Agency Family Support Teams.

The required 'Service Categories' are listed below and identify areas in which we currently have gaps in provision against which you are invited to submit a proposal.

We are looking for submissions which are focused on meeting the specific objectives and proposed outcomes listed in the Grant Application document, although we encourage innovative bids.

Required Service Categories

We have identified 7 service categories for which we would like to commission new Family Engagement and Support services:

  1. A preventative level service primarily to tackle the increasing problem of young people suffering eating disorders and negative body image.
  2. Provision of low level support and practical help for children, young people and families who are in need of support but not in a state of crisis because they have suffered bereavement, loss or a significant change in their family circumstances (e.g. redundancy, long term/terminal illness)
  3. Managing stress through complimentary and holistic therapies
  4. Translation Service
  5. Building the confidence and self esteem of parents
  6. Counselling/Listening service.
  7. Family Group Conferencing

Trafford CYPS has a total of £262,000 funding to commission across all these strands for the rest of 2009/10 and 2010/11.

Integrated Children's System (ICS)
**ICS is used internally by Social Care (CYPS) staff only The Integrated Children's System has been developed to improve outcomes for children defined as being in need, under the Children's Act 1989. The ICS process gathers complicated and detailed information about Trafford's children and young people and thus shall be stored in a supporting electronic record system. Information shall only be available to practitioners who have a combination of granted consent and where appropriate, the necessary access levels. This system compliments the "Integrated Working" approach.
