Commissioning workshop and questionnaire

Commissioning activity

As part of our participation in the Commissioning Support Programme (CSP), we are currently undertaking a structured self analysis and planning exercise that will enable Trafford Children's Trust and strategic partners to set clear priorities for improving strategic commissioning arrangements.

Between 2009 and 2011, the Commissioning Support Programme is working with Trafford Children and Young People's Service and other Children's Trusts across across the country to support commissioning processes to develop. A key component of the programme is bespoke consultancy support to improve strategic commissioning in each Children's Trust. To access this support, Children's Trusts need to undertake a self analysis and planning exercise. The exercise:

  • is based on an in-depth analysis of local arrangements
  • ensures that there is a robust view of local strengths and weaknesses
  • is directly mapped to the World Class Commissioning (WCC) Competencies

Further benefits will be:

  • assisting in the refresh of the Trafford Compact and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Document (JSNA)
  • assessing training needs
  • assisting in the developing of current and future service improvement plans to improve performance outcomes

We have attached a copy of the exercise document which we invite you to complete and return at your leisure. The exercise focuses on 13 commissioning standards and features questions relating to key strategic documents used within Trafford CYPS to provide a guiding framework for good practice around commissioning; the standards have been mapped to the NHS World Class Commissioning Standards. Also attached is a copy of the booking form and details of a workshops on the 23rd and 25th of February at Flixton House that are being held in conjunction with this questionnaire that we also invite you to attend.

A booking form is attached below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact ryan.healy@trafford.gov.uk. Many thanks for your time and assistance.
