Opportunity to apply for capital funding to support services for children with disabilities and their families

£127,000 of Capital funding is available to support Trafford Council's short breaks for disabled children. Funding is for providers to apply for capital expenditure. This should not detract from providers' responsibility to ensure they meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements, but the funding would assist with particular costs exceeding DDA requirements.

Applications will be considered from statutory, voluntary and community based organisations that work towards supporting short breaks for families of children with a disability. A short break provides the primary carer with the support they need to take some time out from their caring responsibilities. In Trafford we want to see a variety of services for children and young people with disabilities aged 0 -18 and their families. For more information please see the attached document.
