Trafford CYPS has created an 8 tier toolkit to help practitioners when sharing information about the children, young people and families they care for.

Tier 1: Framework Document
This sets out the rules, values and principles for information sharing between organisations irrespective of the purpose. It is aimed at an organisations' 'strategic' level.

Tier 1 - Information Sharing Protocol Framework Document (MS Word, 1.16mb)

Tier 2: Information Community Agreement (ICA)
This is a means of defining a specific community of two or more organisations who have come together for a common purpose with a shared objective in respect of information processing/sharing for a particluar purpose and then communicating those to the appropriate operational staff within and across organisations. It is aimed at an organisations 'middle management' level.

Tier 2 - Information Sharing Protocol Information Community Agreement (MS Word, 1.17mb)

Tier 3: Operational Arrangement (OA)
This is a means of capturing the relevant business processes that will support effective information processing/sharing for a particular purpose and then communicating those to the appropriate operational staff within and across organisations. It is aimed at an organisations 'operational management/practitioner' level.

Tier 4: Information Sharing Matrix
This will be a working document to be used in order to identify what information can be supplied by a participating partnership organisation, and in what format it can be shared.

Tier 5: Information Sharing and Confidentiality Policy and Guidance
Based on the DFES Guidance for Practitioners on Information Sharing, this details the information sharing policy to be used by Trafford Children and Young People's Service.
