Aiming High revenue funding 2010-11

Grant Application Opportunity

£300,000 of Aiming High revenue funding is available to support Trafford CYPS's transformation of short breaks for disabled children. Funding is for providers to apply for revenue expenditure to develop short break services for children and young people with a disability and their families.

What kinds of services can be funded through the grant?

Revenue funding is to provide services for disabled children aligned to Trafford CYPS's Aiming High Commissioning Plan:

DEFINITION OF REVENUE EXPENDITURE

We aim to offer a mixture of inclusive and targeted services, and would welcome bids from services that can offer either or both. This application MUST be done in coordination with the needs assessment and commissioning plan which can be located at the bottom of the following webpage:

www.cyps.org.uk/cypsservices/additional_needs/2009/10/07/aiming_high_for_disabled_childre

Proposals to fund existing activity will not be considered unless you have clearly demonstrated that this funding will enable you to extend/develop your current support/activity/service and support additional children/young people.

This funding is for revenue costs only, below are some examples of what the funding can pay for:

  • staff costs to enable the employment of individuals
  • employing sessional/casual staff
  • venue hire or rental costs
  • contribution to rent costs (related to activities/service delivery)
  • training for volunteers
  • travel expenses for volunteers
  • additional activities to expand an existing activity or funded project
  • to support an organisation to achieve a quality or other standard relevant to this activity
  • equipment hire

Who can apply?

Applications will be considered from statutory, voluntary and community based organisations that fulfil the Aiming High criteria and where the applications meet the needs identified in the Aiming High Commissioning Plan.

When should the services be delivered?

All projects should be delivered prior to 31st March 2011.

Where in the borough are services required?

We would like to be able to present opportunities for all children within Trafford across the borough. Bearing this in mind we will try to ensure a good geographical spread of activities so that as many children and young people as possible can access enjoyable short breaks across a range of areas in the borough.

How to apply?

If you are interested in applying for this funding and would like to request a Grant Application Form, please send an email to Kaye Hadfield at kaye.hadfield@trafford.gov.uk or phone on 0161 912 4023.

The return date for this Grant Application process is 5.00pm on Thursday 22nd April 2010.
