Children's homes

Trafford Children in Care Service operates several Children’s Homes within Trafford providing a high quality of care for children and young people aged between 11 and 17 years. A small number of children are cared for by children’s homes managed by external agencies.

Children's homes offer placements for children and young people who may need a period of stability, assessment or longer term support and are unable to live at their previous home.

Trafford is committed to the training and development of the staff teams and work to exceed the national minimum care standards for children's homes. Homes are regulated and inspected on a regular basis by Ofsted.

The aim of the children's home is to assist, support and encourage children to achieve good outcomes and develop skills to assist them to lead successful and fulfilling adult lives.

Integrated Children's System (ICS)
**ICS is used internally by Social Care (CYPS) staff only The Integrated Children's System has been developed to improve outcomes for children defined as being in need, under the Children's Act 1989. The ICS process gathers complicated and detailed information about Trafford's children and young people and thus shall be stored in a supporting electronic record system. Information shall only be available to practitioners who have a combination of granted consent and where appropriate, the necessary access levels. This system compliments the "Integrated Working" approach.
