Workforce Learning - Qualifications Funding

Help with Funding for your Childcare or Play Qualification

Funding is currently available for people who either live in Trafford or who work in a childcare or play setting located within Trafford, towards the cost of studying towards a relevant qualification.

If you are eligible, you can claim up to 75% of the cost of the course. Here are some examples of the courses you can study:

  • NVQ Level 2 - Level 4 Children's Care, Learning & Development
  • NVQ Level 2 - Level 3 Playwork
  • Foundation Degree in Early Years (Level 5)
  • Transitional Awards in Early Years or Playwork
  • ILM Introductory Certificate in First Line Management

Integrated Children's System (ICS)
**ICS is used internally by Social Care (CYPS) staff only The Integrated Children's System has been developed to improve outcomes for children defined as being in need, under the Children's Act 1989. The ICS process gathers complicated and detailed information about Trafford's children and young people and thus shall be stored in a supporting electronic record system. Information shall only be available to practitioners who have a combination of granted consent and where appropriate, the necessary access levels. This system compliments the "Integrated Working" approach.

The Early Years & Childcare Business Support Team offer a business support service to early years, childcare and play providers in both the maintained sector and the private, voluntary and independent (PVI) sector. This is in addition to providing general financial and administrative support to the wider Sure Start team, including Workforce Learning, CYP Information Service, Childcare & Play and Children’s Centres.
