GET INVOLVED IN THE CONSULTATION ON THE NEXT PHASE OF SETTING UP THE MULTI-AGENCY SERVICE
Consultation on Phase 6 of establishing the multi-agency service for children and young people commenced on 2 January 2008 and runs until 2 February. This is about proposals regarding the structures for the three area-based multi-agency Family Support Services; and the process for appointing to the Heads of Service and Operations Manager posts. The consultation paper is being E-Mailed out to all staff. A range of documents relating to the proposals have now been posted on the CYPS Web-site www.cyps.org.uk/home: These include the full version of the consultation paper; job descriptions and person specifications for the Heads of Service, Operations Managers and Deputy Operations Managers posts; proposed application form; Agenda for Change Information Sheet; current and proposed establishments; a list of ring-fenced posts; and the letter which is being sent to those staff in the ring-fence. Staff will be able to make their views on these proposals at general meetings, which all staff are invited to; at team meetings, (which have been arranged); and through submitting written comments on the Response Form. Staff are invited to attend one of the following general meetings and give their views to the senior managers who will be present. All meetings 12.30 - 2.00 p.m.

TRAFFORD GCSEs BEST IN COUNTRY
Trafford pupils have once again out performed their peers across the country in 2007 and exceeded the challenging targets set by the DCSF. Excluding the Isles of Scilly, Trafford is ranked 1st nationally with 74 percent of pupils achieving 5 or more A* - C grades, an increase of 4 percentage points on the 2006 results, when Trafford was ranked 3rd. In addition, 61 percent of pupils achieved 5 or more A* - C grades including English and Mathematics. This is an increase on the high achievements in 2006 and the highest in the North West of England. Trafford pupils have again attained extremely well in the A Level examinations with the percentage of pupils attaining an A grade increasing on the percentage in 2006. The average point score per candidate in Trafford has again placed Trafford in the top 10 of authorities nationally, 1st in the North West and 1st compared with authorities with similar characteristics.
