TRAFFORD'S SCHOOL MEALS WEEK WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Several primary school children are to receive prizes at a ceremony at Trafford Town Hall on Wednesday 12 March following competitions as part of last month's School Meals Week in Trafford. Children across our primary schools were able to brush up on their healthy eating, healthy lifestyle knowledge. The following winners will receive their prizes offered by Trafford Community Leisure Trust, The Chill Factor and Regatta:
Juniors
- First prize-a three month family leisure pass for any Trafford leisure centre, Chloe Stewart (9), St Anne's CE Primary School, Sale
- Second prize-introduction to climbing voucher for three people at the Chill Factor, Victoria Willows (10),St Hugh of Lincoln Catholic Primary School, Stretford
- Third prize-Regatta ski jacket, Eva Plant (9), St Mary's CE Primary School, Sale.
- First prize-ski and board taster family ticket at the Chill Factor, Kyle Kelsall-Ward (6), The Firs Primary School, Sale
- Second prize-Ski taster pass for 1 adult and 1 child from the Chill Factor, Zac Birchall (7), from Oldfield Brow Primary School, Altrincham
- Third prize-Regatta ski jacket, Alviar Cohen (5), Bollin Primary School, Bowdon.
Infants
In addition to these Borough-wide prizes, a variety of individual school prizes have also been awarded, including items such as drawstring bags, drinks bottles and stationery items. A big thank you to our Education Catering Service for organizing such a successful event, which promotes healthy eating to our primary school pupils.
SCHOOL CROSSING PATROL STAFF LONG SERVICE AWARDS
Dedicated school crossing patrol staff have been presented with long service awards marking their contribution to making Trafford a safer Borough at the at the patrols' annual seminar held recently at St. Matthews Church Hall, Stretford. Every day during term time around 120 patrols work across the Borough, making sure that children are getting to school and crossing the road safely. Those receiving awards were Beverley Price-10 years; Charles Ridgeway-10 years; Joan Organ-10 years; Jean Barton-10 years; Pauline Simpson-15 years; Irene Franklands-15 years; Christine Banter-20 years; and Heather Morris-38 years.
