CONSULTATION ON MULTI-AGENCY SERVICE TRANSITIONAL ARRANGEMENTS STARTS TODAY
A consultation paper with proposed arrangements for managing the transition prior to all three of the area multi-agency Family Support Services being set up in September 2009, is being sent out to staff today.
The paper confirms:
1) The new timetable for establishing the multi-agency services i.e.
September 2008:
- Multi-Agency Referral and Assessment Service (MARAS)
- Children in Care Service
January 2009:
- West Family Support Service
- Children with Complex and Additional Needs Service
September 2009:
- North Family Support Service
- South Family Support Service.
2) Managers appointed and connexions, education welfare, health visiting, school nursing, social work and youth service staff deployed, will be working and delivering services as part of the West Family Support Service from January 2009.
3) Existing teams within their current structures will continue providing services to the North and South of the Borough. Transitional management and operational arrangements will need to be agreed and put in place to ensure that these services are delivered effectively. And
4) The management team for the West Family Support Service.
The consultation paper sets out the proposed arrangements for managing connexions, education welfare, health visiting, school nursing, social work and youth services in the North and South of the Borough, from January to August 2009.
Written comments on these proposed transitional management arrangements, need to be submitted by no later than 5.00 p.m. on Friday 13 June 2008. These comments will then be considered in finalising the transitional management arrangements, which will be made known before 27 June 2008.
