LAUNCH OF NEW CYPS BRAND AND LOGO
We are about to launch our new brand and logo as a precursor to the first multi-agency services operating from September this year. All children's services staff in the Council, PCT and Healthcare Trust are warmly invited to the launch of the new Trafford CYPS Brand on Tuesday 22 July between 12.30 and 3 p.m. at Sale West Development Centre, Manor Road, Sale. The official launch will be at 1 p.m., and a sandwich lunch is included. This will give colleagues the opportunity to see the Brand in action and ask questions concerning their own needs. The event will be on a 'come and stay as long as you wish or just pop in' basis. Please let Mandy Hughes (0161 9118653/07841496443, mandy.hughes@trafford.gov.uk) know if you will be attending the launch.
FINAL COMMUNICATIONS DOCUMENT - TRANSITION
The Final Communications Document following consultation on transition arrangements for the multi-agency service was issued on 4 July. Staff and trade unions of the Council, Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Healthcare Trust were invited to make comments on proposals regarding the transitional management arrangements that will be needed between now and the time when all six of the multi-agency services will be operating. This particularly relates to the phasing in of the six multi-agency services involving the operation of the Multi-Agency Referral and Assessment Service (MARAS) and Children in Care Service from September 2008; West Family Support Service and Children with Complex and Additional Needs Service from January 2009; and North and South Family Support Services from September 2009. The transitional management arrangements have been confirmed as those set out in the consultation paper. The Final Communications document can be accessed from the CYPS website www.cyps.org.uk.
REDUCING ACCIDENTS INVOLVING YOUNG DRIVERS
Young drivers are being targeted with an innovative DVD to reduce road casualties. Services who work with 17-25 year olds are asked to help promote the message. Trafford Road Safety Unit is working with other councils in Greater Manchester to develop a number of resources and interventions targeting the 17-25 age group and the pre-driver age range (15-17 year olds). One of the resources developed is 'Wrecked', a DVD featuring a series of personal accounts of collisions based on the experiences of real young drivers. A sample of the videos can be seen at the website www.wrecked.org.uk. If you work with young people who could benefit from the DVD contact Martin Jones, Senior Road Safety Officer on 0161 912 4319 or e-mail martin.jones@trafford.gov.uk.
