Being a school governor is interesting, worthwhile and rewarding. To be truly effective a governing body needs members from all walks of life, and different cultural backgrounds who possess a variety of skills.

Trafford governor services

We provide support to Trafford's Governing Bodies in carrying out their responsibilities effectively. We do this in a number of ways by offering:

Telephone help line advice
Centrally held training sessions
Individual sessions training sessions for governing bodies
A termly newsletter for Governors
Production of in-house literature and model policies
A clerking service
Training on the role of clerk and chair of governors
Supporting termly meetings of the Governors' Forum
Supporting the Parent Governor Representatives
Places at conferences and relevant events
