Introduction to Integrated Working

Single Agency Referral Form (SARF)

All referrals to children's social care must be made on a Single Agency Referral Form. Other services will require or accept a Single Agency Referral Form to refer to their services. This is usually when it is clear that there is only one service required, or when the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) has been refused by the child/young person or parent/carer.

The Single Agency Referral Form is used when enhanced support or additional needs have already been identified and only the support of your own agency and/or one other is needed.

If the child/young person you are working with is likely to need support from a number of agencies or their needs are unclear then a Common Assessment Framework should be undertaken to help identify what support is required.
