Introduction to Integrated Working

Following the death of Victoria Climbie, the Laming Inquiry and Report recommended new ways of working in children's services to support children, young people and families. These new ways of working are known collectively as "Integrated Working".

The key to this new way of working is for practitioners to work together to identify needs earlier, and to put in place a programme of services to better meet the child and family's needs. This will ensure that children and young people get a better start in life, and meet the five every child matters outcomes:

  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Achieve Economic Wellbeing
  • Make a Positive Contribution

These new processes and systems include:

Single Agency Referral Form
Common Assessment Framework (CAF)
Lead Professional
Information Sharing
eCAF and ICS Training
CYPS Options Funding
