Learning and development programme

The Learning and Development Programme for Early Years Foundation Stage, Childcare and Play Practitioners has been designed to give clear information to practitioners working with children and young people from birth to the age of 19.

The primary aim is to enable practitioners to meet required standards expected by law and to prepare settings for registration and inspection by Ofsted. It is also designed to enhance career and professional development opportunities to improve outcomes for children.

Am I eligible to use this programme?

The courses are open to Early Years Foundation Stage, Childcare and Play practitioners who work in Trafford. Usually, this is practitioners working in Ofsted registered private, voluntary and independent (PVI) settings or in nursery and reception classes at maintained schools. If you are unsure if you are eligible, please contact the training administrator.

How to use this programme

The courses detailed within the Learning and Development Programme are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes, Key Elements of Effective Practice (KEEP) and the Common Core standards.
